The 39th edition of Milano Unica

The 39th edition of Milano Unica dropped the curtains with satisfacion, confirming its role as the benchmark event for the textiles and accessories of high range industry. The event welcomed more than 5,500 visiting companies, +19% over the July 2023 edition, with a significant increase in the participation of international companies (+36%) over the previous year. The exhibitors with their Fall/Winter 2025-26 collections and the research and innovation areas also recorded significant growth with a total of 700 companies, up +18% over the July 2023 edition.

MU Tendenze Sostenibitlità Area

Inspired by the most current family concept, the MU Tendenze Sostenibilità Area was staged as a house to welcome the creative proposals for the F/W 2025-26 collections presented by the exhibitors in its elegant and evocative rooms. 

 

All samples on display in the area featured sustainability elements assessed in advance by the Milano Unica Technical Committee and indicated on the value pillar icons. The figures of the project demonstrate that the textile and accessories industry is increasingly committed to environmental and social sustainability: 410 exhibitors presented a total of 3,432 samples meeting sustainability requirements.

The areas of the trade show

The 39th edition of Milano Unica presented an even richer panorama of special areas and projects. In addition to the traditional participation of the international Japan Observatory and Korea Observatory and the Innovation Area, visitors were given access to new contents, such as the S/S 2026 collection preview of MareDiModa and Velvet Mi Amor, the exhibition curated by Stefano and Corinna Chiassai.  

 

MU Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony on last July 9 offered a moment of insight and analysis on the textile industry. Attilio Fontana, the President of the Lombardy Region, stressed the industrial and cultural role of the supply chain. Also Claudio Sgaraglia, the Prefect of Milan, highlighted the ongoing efforts to develop a protocol on product safety and production delocalization. Simone Canclini, President of Milano Unica, underscored the growing interest in the trade show and the high quality standards of the participating exhibitors and put a special emphasis on the Made-in-Europe concept. Matteo Zoppas, President of the Italian Trade Agency ICE, recalled the role played by the Agency in supporting Italian SMEs in their international expansion and promotion of Made-in-Italy products providing significant data on Italian exports in 2023. A panel discussion followed on the future of the Made-in-Italy supply chain. The important topics discussed relating to creativity, innovation and competitiveness were addressed by Barbara Cimmino, Vice President of Confindustria with responsibility for exports and investment attraction and Co-Founder of Yamamay, Antonio De Matteis, President of Pitti Immagine and CEO of Kiton, Caterina Sanson, Partner of OC&C Milan, and Luca Solca, Analyst, Head of Luxury Goods at Bernstein and moderated by Nicola Porro.

MU Live Dinner & Art

The first day of the event ended with the MU Live Dinner & Art event, held at the Museo Diocesano. Guests had the opportunity to visit the museum's permanent collection and the photography exhibition of Robert Capa, accompanied by live music, making the evening a perfect blend of art, culture and networking.

 

e-MilanoUnica Connect

After dropping the physical curtains, Milano Unica continues with e-MilanoUnica Connect to highlight the excellence of the collection presented by the exhibitors and offer inspiration through the stories of the materials presented. The marketplace, developed in collaboration with Zoom on Fashion Trends, is an inspiring digital bridge for fashion industry players.
