MILANO UNICA - 40TH EDITION: THE EXHIBITION AREAS

An update on the event’s contents

The 40th edition of Milano Unica will be celebrated from February 4-6, 2025. Once again, the trade show brings together the leading players in the textile and fashion industry at Fiera Milano (Rho). Exhibitors will showcase their Spring/Summer 2026 collections in response to market needs, offering buyers a wide range of proposals and a preview of new trends. Milano Unica will be held in Halls 13-15 and 22-24. A free shuttle service will connect the East Gate (subway station and train line) and the West Gate with an intermediate stop at the South Gate.

 

This year too, Milano Unica confirms its distinctive offering hosting the excellence of textile and apparel accessory production. The special areas will complement the event with a deep dive into the innovations of the industry.

HALL 24

IDEABIELLA +

With the finest creations for high-end menswear and an increasing number of sophisticated proposals for womenswear, Ideabiella presents ongoing innovation and respect for heritage and tradition. Ideabiella showcases the finest wool fabrics and noble blends such as cashmere, silk, cotton and linen.

SHIRT AVENUE +

A selection of exhibitors present the finest fabrics for men's and women's shirts, ranging from classic to informal, always in the name of quality and style.

ALLIANCE FOR EUROPEAN FLAX-LINEN & HEMP +

The Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp is the only European agro-industrial organisation that serves as a global reference and brings together all players in the European Flax-Linen and Hemp value chain. Founded in 1951, it connects 10,000 companies in 16 European countries. It enhances on its stand at Milano Unica the know-how of its members and exhibits their latest creative trends (fabrics and yarns). In fact, the fabric library is an innovative space dedicated to lifestyle and fashion to find innovative certified materials. The ‘Linen Itinerary’ is a real source of inspiration for creators. Further novelties will be unveiled during the fair.

COTTON EGYPT ASSOCIATION +

Cotton Egypt Association (CEA) is a non-profit association that exclusively manages, promotes and protects the Egyptian Cotton and the registered Egyptian CottonTM trademark, owned by the Ministry of Trade & Industry and Alexandria Cotton Exporter’s Association. CEA also plays a major role in the sustainability of Egyptian Cotton, being the strategic partner of Better Cotton to Egypt. Also CEA partnered with Cotton Connect for Regenerative Cotton. CEA Vision is to globally authenticate the legacy of Egyptian Cotton TM. CEA Mission is to protect and promote the value-add of the Egyptian Cotton TM identity in supply chains end-to-end.

SUPIMA +

Supima represents Pima cotton grown in the United States and is synonymous with quality and excellence. The organization was founded in 1954 in El Paso, Texas, to promote and enhance this unique material. The name combines "Superior" and "Pima," emphasizing the product's distinctive characteristics. Supima is an exclusive variety of Pima cotton, sustainably grown only in the Western and Southwestern states of the United States by a total of approximately 300 farms. Appreciated worldwide by discerning designers and consumers, Supima cotton stands out for its exceptional strength, color durability and extraodinary softness. The WOOLMARK Company +

Woolmark, the world authority on Merino wool, presents the new edition of The Wool Lab Spring Summer 2026, a guide to the most innovative and high-performance Merino wool fabrics and yarns, also available in a digital version through The Wool Lab Digital platform. Also, for the first time, some of The Wool Lab's themes will come to life through a special display that will allow visitors to "touch and feel" not only the fabrics but also some of the finished items that are the results of the most relevant collaborations made by Woolmark with top brands through its vast network of collaborations in the textile and fashion industry, demonstrating the high potential of Merino wool.

UKFT (UK Fashion and Textile Association) +

The UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT) is now a regular and committed exhibitor at Milano Unica, bringing together and representing the UK textile industry at this important global textile fair. Milano Unica is the leading international platform for premium textiles, showcasing the creativity, heritage and innovation of the UK textile industry, and we continue to work with international buyers and agents to introduce them to some of the finest mills, manufacturers and designers the UK has to offer. The UK has particular expertise in luxury suiting and jacketing fabrics in wool, cashmere and speciality fibres, while others are leading the way in lighter weight constructions and designs that tap into seasonal trends. The UK is at the forefront of developing ethical and sustainable supply chains.

ITS TAM +

The story of the Erasmus+ Program for the mobility of students enrolled in textile and jewelry programs, accompanied by their professors, will be the protagonist of this edition of Milano Unica. For the 2024-2025 academic year, over 100 TAM students took the opportunity to join the Erasmus+ Program travelling to Paris for the "Fabrics & Fashion Week in Paris 2024" project; to Brussels for the “Textile Innovation and Sustainability” project, where they also visited the headquarters of the European Parliament, as well as, Antwerp and Tilburg; to Munich for the “Technical and Sports Textiles” project on the occasion of ISPO. Meanwhile a trip to Munich to visit the Inhorgenta trade show has been organized for GEM students dedicated to the jewelry sector. The goal is to enhance future Made in Italy talents and offer them an intensive experience in the most significant European environments of international fashion.

MU TENDENZE SOSTENIBILITÀ +

The MU Tendenze Sostenibilità Area is the starting point of the journey within the trade show. This area welcomes visitors in a suggestive environment to find inspiration and discover the Spring/Summer 2026 collections. The area showcases samples from the participating companies that creatively interpret MU Land Tendenze. The samples have been selected based on their sustainability performance represented by the 5 value pillars (Climate Action, Chemical Safety, Biodiversity Conservation, Circular Economy, Social Justice).

KOREA OBSERVATORY +

30 Korean companies, representing the excellence of Made-in-Korea fabrics, participate in Milano Unica. Thanks to consolidated knowhow and continuous innovation, the Korean high-performance fabrics can be used for a broad selection of product categories going from outerwear to outdoor clothing and suiting. The quality of Korean fabrics is guaranteed by the research and development of the most advanced raw materials and yarns, offering functionality and maximum comfort.

INNOVATION AREA +

Customization is one of the most relevant and promising trends in technical textiles as it redefines the industry with tailored solutions for customers and applications. Thanks to Textiles of the Future, a Horizon Europe 2025-2027 partnership, new horizons are opening up for advanced and sustainable materials. Digitization and technological innovation are accelerating processes, reducing costs and optimizing resources while addressing the specific needs of the different segments, such as sportswear, medical devices, labor and design. Texclubtec, the technical textile section of Confindustria Moda, is at the heart of this transformation, promoting collaboration between companies, research centers and institutions for a future of innovation and customization.

MarediModa – which, since 2002, has been promoting and safeguarding European collections of fabrics and accessories for swimwear, lingerie, and athleisure with controlled origin through its main trade show in Cannes and later in Miami and London – returns to Milano Unica with a dedicated area showcasing collections for Summer 2026.

MU VINTAGE +

An area dedicated to "timeless" pieces, where unique pieces - such as vintage dresses, bags, trimmings, buttons, jewelry, scarves, antique fabrics and accessories of various kinds – are on sale. Rediscovering and reusing vintage pieces not only creates unique styles but contributes to preserving the cultural heritage of fashion while concretely reducing the impact on the environment.

BEYOND TAILORING +

D-house urban laboratory, Pattern Group's Innovation Lab, Eurojersey with Sensitive® Fabrics and Framis Italia are pleased to present Beyond Tailoring. This is an innovative concept that aims at redefining the boundaries of menswear tailoring design and engineering based on cutting-edge technologies. Beyond Tailoring is the result of a partnership between leading companies in the textile supply chain that combine specific and complementary skills to promote synergistically a new way of dressing that is dynamic, functional, and multipurpose. The project reinterprets classic menswear through an innovative approach that combines high-quality materials and high-tech processing. Four total looks have been developed with patented Sensitive® Fabrics stretch fabrics produced in Italy by Eurojersey using cutting-edge technology by Framis (i.e. thermo-taping and sealing), Alvanon data-driven ecosystem, and 3D printing by Stratasys. All this is masterfully combined with the know-how of D-house, the Pattern Group’s Innovation Lab, resulting in four outfits featuring a classic design re-proposed in a restyled, customized, and customizable way. Beyond Tailoring represents the starting point for a tailoring concept that stretches out to contemporaneity, responding with elegance and precision to the challenges of the industry. Visitors are invited to join in a multi-sensory, entertaining, surprising, and inspiring journey leading to the exploration of the different production steps through an innovative approach that enables them to touch with their hands sustainable and technologically advanced solutions. ‘TheCube Still Frames’ - is an audiovisual journey into the exploration of trends. Within a 130 m² immersive space, six Trend Drop videos come to life on vertical suspended screens, descending from above like a continuous flow of creative ideas and insights. An immersive experience that translates the SS’26 themes, which Milano Unica will showcase in its upcoming February 2025 edition, into images and movement: Rural. Underground. Zen. In the digital era, audiovisual content has become a universal language, serving as an essential tool to capture the attention of a visually oriented and connected audience, open to clear and concrete creative visions. Creative Direction: Corinna Chiassai and Marius Hordijk of TheCube Archive, a young and dynamic Italian fashion archive founded in 2020. TheCube is a continuously evolving creative hub, always in search of trends and inspirations moving through fashion, music, books, and art. In its second participation at Milano Unica, TheCube find itself exactly where it wants to be: at the heart of trend research, transforming them into visua experiences that anticipate the future of creative communication.

JAPAN OBSERVATORY +

Cutting-edge innovation and an ancient spirit of craftsmanship converge in high-end Japanese productions. The Japan Observatory, organized by JFW & JETRO, consists of 56 selected Japanese companies, including 16 new exhibitors. The companies' business presence will be enhanced by a special area; ’JOB Next’ by JETRO presenting companies with enriched and wide-ranging fabrics, alongside an area of trends and index; displaying the highlighted products of the exhibitors in attendance.

Filo – the international exhibition of yarns and fibers – and Milano Unica are connected by a close bond under the banner of excellence driven by the production process of the textile manufacturing industry. The area Milano Unica reserves for Filo features proposals upstream of the supply chain, with the highest quality yarns and materials used to manufacture the high-end fabrics on display at Milano Unica. The synergy between Filo and Milano Unica follows the needs of the production chain and the common vision of the challenges that the textile industry is facing particularly in the area of sustainability. Moreover, it is particularly interesting for foreign buyers because it offers an overall idea of the textile offering presented by the Italian reference shows. The goal is to enhance sustainable creativity and ongoing research that combines tradition and innovation. For several editions, Filo has been bringing to Milano Unica the yarns produced by the exhibitors that have joined the FiloFlow sustainability project following the creative and suggestive vision featured in the “Filosophy” video edited by Gianni Bologna.
