CREATIVITY AND INCLUSION: MILANO UNICA AND ATACAMA360 AT THE 39TH EDITION
Inclusion as the foundation of social sustainability
For the 39th edition, Milano Unica launched a creative and social project in collaboration with the Atacama360 video makers, a start-up of the Bollate detention center for re-integrating inmates and former inmates.
Milano Unica has always paid great attention to education and sustainability, and this project represents another step towards inclusion as a value and foundation of social sustainability.
Using videos as a powerful tool for communication, Atacama360 reported the success stories of the entrepreneurs of Milano Unica’s three main textile and accessories exhibitions: Ideabiella, Shirt Avenue and Moda In. A separate video is dedicated to the special areas.
The close collaboration between textile entrepreneurs and new multimedia entrepreneurs shows and confirms that creativity can be a vehicle for integration and social innovation promoting professionals who have found the strength and determination to transform their painful paths.
Atacama is the world’s driest desert with unexpected blossoming events. Atacama360 is not only a model of social innovation but shows that people who have made mistakes can become a valuable resource when given the right opportunities to reinvent themselves both individually and collectively.
