“VELVET MI AMOR” AT MILANO UNICA
The installation by Stefano and Corinna Chiassai celebrates tradition and innovation of velvet
Stefano and Corinna Chiassai present “Velvet Mi Amor” at Milano Unica, a suggestive exhibition that invites viewers to explore the “velvet concept” through new potential and interpretations of use of a fabric rich in history.
Located at the entrance of Hall 1, “Velvet Mi Amor” brings viewers to a surreal atmosphere, where alien-shaped mannequins wrapped in enigmatic velvet illusions testify to the excellence of Italian fashion, combining traditional craftsmanship and technological innovation.
Velvet shows its multi-faceted versatility in this collection with different interpretations through materials like silk, cotton and nylon. Photo-printing techniques and the creative use of light enhance the 3D texture of the fabric while the bold color combinations and experimental cuts reveal the artistic potential of its futuristic form.
The exhibition presents a selection of the most important pieces of the collection and invites viewers to explore the new and always surprising, creative and functional interpretations offered by velvet.
