Useful information on travel authorization to enter the Schengen area
L'ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is an electronic travel authorization system introduced by the European Union, which will be mandatory in 2025. This new system is intended for citizens of non-EU visa-exempt countries who intend to visit Schengen area countries.
The ETIAS application process is simple and quick. Applicants must fill out an online form providing personal information, travel details and answering security questions. Most clearances will be issued within minutes, although in some cases additional screening may be required.
It is important to note that ETIAS is not a substitute for a visa. It is a mandatory document for visitors who are not required to have a visa to enter the Schengen area.
